Patio Update

When we first bought our house outside of Chicago, the woman we purchased from decided to leave her patio furniture behind. Needless to say, we were super pumped for any free furniture. The patio furniture was an old wicker set that looked a bit dated and frumpy. So, while I was grateful for not needing to buy outdoor furniture, I definitely did not like the way it looked. Our first step in updating the pieces was to spray paint the wicker a nice chocolate brown. After that I loved them so much more. The cushions still felt frumpy and outdated, but I could live with them. After moving, I was looking for a new project around the house and did not want to spend very much on new pieces of furniture. So I came back to the patio furniture. I decided it was finally time to update the fabric. I took measurements of each cushion and sort of plotted how I would cut them out of a long strip of fabric. Once I figured out how much I needed, I ordered 3 different fabrics from fabric.com. After I got the fabric in the mail I cut out my pieces and made new covers for the cushions. I decided to change the back cushions on the loveseat to a less frumpy style. Here’s how it turned out:
